HARRINGTONS MAJOR LEADS TITLEIST TO WORLDWIDE SWEEP

Five More Wins Advance Titleist's Year-to-Date Victory Count to 97

Fairhaven, MA (July 20, 2008) – Padraig Harrington's second consecutive victory at The Open Championship was just the beginning of a five-win worldwide sweep by Titleist golf ball loyalists across the worldwide professional tours this weekend. While Harrington and runner-up Ian Poulter relied upon the Pro V1x for their 1-2 success at the year's third major, players trusting Titleist also entered the winners' circle on the PGA, LPGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours.

Five more wins advance the #1 ball in golf's year-to-date victory count to 97, nearly four times the nearest competitor and more than all other golf balls combined. Below are the highlights from Titleist's five-win week:

BRITISH OPEN: On a day when only four other players shot sub-par rounds, Padraig Harrington fired a one-under 69 in the final round of The Open Championship for a three-over 283 total and a four-shot win over fellow Pro V1x loyalist Ian Poulter.

Of the two players who tied for fifth, the veteran replied upon Titleist's new 909D2 driver and a Scotty Cameron putter for his success. Meanwhile, the low amateur played the Pro V1x golf ball and a full complement of Titleist golf clubs, including the 907D2 driver, 906F4 fairway metal, 735 CM irons, Vokey Design wedges and a Scotty Cameron Newport 1.5 putter.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at The Open Championship with 95 players, compared to 24 for the nearest competitor. Titleist was also the top choice in the iron (35), wedge (131) and putter (49) categories.

PGA TOUR: It was another 1-2 Titleist finish at the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee, where Pro V1x loyalist Richard S. Johnson birdied three of his last four holes for a final round six-under 64 and a one shot victory over Pro V1 player Ken Duke. Johnson finished at 16-under 264 for his first career PGA Tour victory. Pro V1 golf ball loyalists Dean Wilson and Chris Riley were among three players who tied for third at 13-under 267.

Kenny Perry (Pro V1x) made a final round charge with a 64 to finish in a five-way tie for sixth at 12-under 268. He was joined by Joe Ogilvy (Pro V1x) and Titleist brand ambassadors Troy Matteson (Pro V1, new 909D2 driver and 909F2 fairway metal, 755 irons, Vokey Design wedges, Scotty Cameron Newport 1.5 T10 putter) and George McNeill (Pro V1, 907D4 driver, 906F2 fairway metal, 695MB irons, Vokey Design wedges, Scotty Cameron putter).

Johnson is the seventh first-time winner on Tour this year, six of whom are Titleist golf ball players, including: Greg Kraft (Puerto Rico Open), Brian Gay (Mayakoba Golf Classic), Andres Romero (Zurich Classic of New Orleans), Ryuji Imada (AT&T Classic) and Johnson Wagner (Shell Houston Open).

Titleist was the most played golf ball at The U.S. Bank Championship with 89 players, compared to 21 for the nearest competitor. It was also the top choice in the iron (37), wedge (140) and putter (51) categories. Titleist was second in drivers (39), 19 of which were new 909 models. The win was the 16th for Titleist golf ball players on the 2008 PGA Tour, more than all other golf balls combined.

In addition to the Pro V1x golf ball, the U.S. Bank winner relied upon a Titleist 906F2 fairway metal, Vokey Design approach wedge, Spin Milled TVD lob wedge and new Scotty Cameron Newport Fastback putter.

LPGA TOUR: It was an all-Titleist golf ball playoff at the LPGA State Farm Classic where Pro V1 player Ji-Young Oh earned her first career title, topping overnight leader and Pro V1x player Yani Tseng at the State Farm Classic on the first extra hole. Oh fired four consecutive rounds in the 60's, including a closing 3-under 69 to finish regulation tied with Tseng at 18-under 270. In the playoff, Oh chipped from the rough within 6 inches of the pin on the par-4 18th hole and then tapped in for victory.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the LPGA State Farm Classic with 111 players, compared to 26 for the nearest competitor.

CHAMPIONS: Pro V1x player R.W. Eaks was the runaway winner at the Champions Tour 3M Championship, posting the lowest score in the tournament's 16-year history. Eaks, who shot a final round 7-under 65 to finish with a 54-hole total of 193, broke the previous record by four shots. Pro V1 player Bernhard Langer posted a final round 66 to tie for second place at 17-under 199.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the 3M Championship with 53 players, more than five times the nearest competitor with 10. Titleist was also the top choice in the wedge (38) category. Of the 11 players who finished tied for 9th place or better, 10 trusted Titleist golf balls for their success. The win was the 16th for Titleist players on the 2008 Champions Tour, eight times more than the nearest competitor with 2.

NATIONWIDE: Titleist brand ambassador Colt Knost, a 23-year-old rookie from Dallas and the reigning U.S. Amateur champion, earned a wire-to-wire win at the Price Cutter Charity Championship to secure his 2009 PGA TOUR card. Knost, who posted an 8-under 64 to take the first-day lead, carded a final round 10-under 62 to finish with a 26-under 262 total. He was four shots clear of the newest Titleist brand ambassador, 22-year-old Webb Simpson, who turned professional two months ago and was making his first Nationwide Tour start.

It was the second win of the year for Knost, who captured the Fort Smith Classic in May, and advanced from No. 20 to No. 2 on the Nationwide Tour money list. At season's end, the 25 top money-winners will earn PGA TOUR cards next year. Knost is the first wire-to-wire winner on the Nationwide Tour this year and his round of 62 matches the lowest round of the year. Statistically, Knost tied for first in fairways hit, tied for second in greens in regulation and tied for first in putting.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at The Price Cutter Charity Championship with 107 players, compared to 19 for the nearest competitor. Titleist was also the top choice in the iron (44), wedge (133) and putter (60) categories.

What's in Colt Knost's Bag?: Pro V1x golf ball, 907D4 driver, 906F4 fairway metal, ZB Forged irons, Vokey Design approach and sand wedges, Spin Milled lob wedge, Scotty Cameron Newport 1.5 T10 putter. What's in Webb Simpson's Bag?: Pro V1x golf ball, 909D3 driver, 909F2 fairway metal, 585.H utility metal, AP2 irons, Spin Milled sand and lob wedges. Titleist golf ball players have won 15 of the first 19 events on the 2008 Nationwide Tour.

U.S. AMATEUR PUBLIC LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP: It was a clean sweep for Titleist at the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship as the most played brand in every major equipment category. Titleist was the most played golf ball with 141 players, more than 23 times the nearest competitor with 6. Titleist was also the top choice in the driver (63), fairway metal (98), utility metal (37), iron (56), wedge (204) and putter (54) categories. In fact, it was an all-Titleist Pro V1x golf ball final. The winner also relied upon the 905R driver, while the runner-up had a full complement of Titleist clubs, including the 907D2 driver, 906F2 fairway metal, 695CB irons, Vokey Design sand and lob wedges and a Scotty Cameron Red X putter.
