Fairhaven, MA (August 27, 2007) - Titleist was well represented in the 36-hole championship match of the U.S. Amateur at the famed Olympic Club’s Lake Course in San Francisco. The winner relied upon the New Pro V1x golf ball, 907D2 driver (8.5), 735.CM irons (3-P), Vokey Design sand (54) wedge, Spin Milled lob (60) wedge and a Scotty Cameron by Titleist prototype putter en route to his 2-and-1 victory. The runner-up placed his trust in the New Pro V1 golf ball, 906F2 fairway metal (15.0) and Vokey Design pitching (48), sand (52) and lob (58) wedges for his success. It was the second USGA title of the year for the winner, who captured the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship last month. He becomes the sixth golfer in history to win two USGA championships in the same season, and is just the second to win the U.S. Amateur and the U.S. Amateur Public Links.
