Just weeks after being introduced onto the PGA Tour, the new Rossa Monza Spider putter captured its 1st PGA TOUR win at the FBR OPEN in a dramatic playoff that came down to two birdie putts on the 18th hole.
After switching to play the Spider for the 1st time, J.B. Holmes trusted it to birdie the 72nd hole in regulation to force a playoff, then birdied the first playoff hole to take the title.
The Spider not only captured its 1st win, it was also the most-played model in the field with nine, one week after 12 were in play at the Buick Invitational. Others who put the Spider in play this week included TaylorMade Staffers Joe Ogilvie, Pat Perez, Sean O’Hair, Michael Allen, Peter Lonard, Dean Wilson and Tim Petrovic.
