Callaway Golf Staff Professional Phil Mickelson prepped to defend his title at the upcoming PLAYERS Championship by teeing it up at the Wachovia Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina, this past weekend. He tied for 12th place after shooting 68-74-69-72 at Quail Hollow Golf Club, and finished 5-under-par for the tournament.

Mickelson used the FT-5 Driver with I-MIX Technology, an FT Tour 13° Fairway Wood, a 2H FT Hybrid, a mixed set of X-Prototype and X-Forged Irons, the Tour ix Golf Ball and the Odyssey White Hot Tour #1 Putter. I-MIX Technology in the FT-5 Driver allows Mickelson to interchange shafts and clubheads from day to day depending on the course conditions. (Learn more about what I-MIX Technology can do for your game.) This personalization technology is also available in the FT-i Driver and takes advantage of recent rules changes on adjustability.

Mickelson now turns his attention to TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. He’ll look to duplicate his victorious effort of a year ago, when he won by two strokes against what is arguably the strongest field on the PGA Tour schedule.

On the LPGA Tour, Callaway Golf Staff Professional Leta Lindley enjoyed her best finish of the season at the SemGroup Championship in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Lindley tied for ninth at Cedar Ridge Country Club by shooting 71-72-72-74 to finish the tournament 5-over-par. Fellow Callaway Golf Staff Professional Julieta Granada also had her best result of the season, finishing tied for 14th.

Callaway Golf Ball Staff Professional Julie Inkster narrowly missed out on her first victory of the year. She finished second, losing on the third hole of a sudden-death playoff. Callaway Golf Ball Staff Pro Lorena Ochoa, who had won the last four LPGA events she played in, tied for fifth place. As she has done all season long, Ochoa used the Tour i Golf Ball. The Tour i and Tour ix Golf Balls have won seven of the 10 events on the LPGA Tour this season.

At the PGA European Tour’s Open de Espana in Seville, Spain, Callaway Golf Staff Professional Niclas Fasth tied for 10th place after a final-round 66 vaulted him 29 places up the leaderboard on Sunday. Fasth’s 6-under-par effort equaled the low round of the day. He shot 72-69-71 the first three days and finished the tournament 10-under-par, five shots off the pace.
