Fairhaven, MA (July 28, 2008) - When a player wins wire-to-wire on the PGA Tour, it speaks volumes about his focus, determination and consistency. Titleist brand ambassador Chez Reavie displayed all that and more as a rookie en route to his first career PGA Tour title at the Canadian Open. Trusting Titleist equipment from tee-to-green, including the Pro V1x golf ball, new 909 driver and ZM irons, Reavie has all the tools and talent to perform and win at the game’s highest level. Titleist was also the ball of choice of each of the winners across every worldwide professional tour this week, making it a six-win sweep for Pro V1 and Pro V1x.

PGA: Reavie, the Knoxville Open winner last year on the Nationwide Tour, played 33 holes in 13-under Friday, shooting 65-64 for a three-stroke lead after the completion of the suspended second round Saturday morning. He completed his wire-to-wire victory by closing with a one-under 70 for a three-stroke victory over fellow Titleist brand ambassador Billy Mayfair. Reavie finished at 17-under 267, earning spots the next two weeks in the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational and PGA Championship, the year’s final major.

What’s in Chez Reavie’s Titleist Bag? Titleist Pro V1x golf ball, 909D2 prototype driver (8.5), 906F2 fairway metal (15.0), new ZM irons (3-P), Vokey Design Spin Milled sand (54) and lob (60) wedges and a Scotty Cameron 303 GSS putter.

By the Numbers: Reavie, relying upon the Pro V1x golf ball, the Titleist 909D2 driver that will be available in October, new ZM irons, and a Scotty Cameron putter, was on the mark all week, hitting 44 of 56 fairways in regulation and 54 of 72 greens. Statistically, Reavie finished T4 in Driving Accuracy (78.6%), T5 in Greens in Regulation (75%), 8th in Putts Per Greens in Regulation (1.630) and T14 in Putts Per Round (27.3).

Follow the Leader: Following Titleist brand ambassadors Chez Reavie and Billy Mayfair on the Canadian Open leaderboard was Steve Marino (Pro V1x), tied for third at 13-under. Another Titleist brand ambassador Nicholas Thompson (Pro V1x, 905R driver, AP2 irons, Vokey Design pitching and approach wedges, Spin Milled sand wedge and TVD lob wedge, Scotty Cameron GSS putter), was another stroke back with Mike Weir (Pro V1) and Scott McCarron (Pro V1x), as Titleist golf ball players secured six of the top seven positions on the leaderboard.

Field Favorite: Titleist was the most played golf ball at the Canadian Open with 107 players, compared to 18 for the nearest competitor. Titleist was also the top choice in the iron (44), wedge (166) and putter (60) categories.

*909 Driver Coming in October

A First for 909: Reavie becomes the first player to win with the new Titleist 909 driver that will be introduced in October. Reavie was among the first Tour players to put the prototype driver in play at the Travelers Championship in mid-June. Titleist was second in the driver category at the Canadian Open with 39 in play, 17 of which were new 909 models. The 909 seeding process began with Tour players the week of the U.S. Open.

Cameron Putters on a Roll: Reavie's win with the Newport-style 303 GSS putter marks the 16th victory for players trusting Scotty Cameron by Titleist putters on the 2008 PGA Tour, more than three times the nearest competitor. In addition to Reavie’s Canadian Open win, Cameron putters were also the choice of the winners at the first two majors and the PLAYERS Championship already this year.
